Playwrights/Directors

are producers and exhibitors in the Australian film industry. Philosophy For Gangsters is our first production in New York. The play is set in a criminal environment with established mores and traditions, and Australian crime cannot even loosely be described as organized. The options were Sicily, Moscow, Tokyo and New Jersey. We don't speak Italian, Russian or Japanese, but have passable English, so here we are across the Hudson from the "Sopranos." The play is a comedy that throws various popular culture myths, story forms and memes into a Mafia melting pot and subverts them. Maybe it has something to say about the transformative potential of the media, too. But let's not get that serious.
